Future thespians have several summer opportunities for acting classes in Knoxville. Children’s Theatre of Knoxville offers intensive acting classes for children ages 8-15 beginning in June. WordPlayers will offer classes in July for children ages 8-13.
Camps at CTK cost $200 per student. Class size is small, with 12 students. To register for classes or for more information, contact email@example.com. Be sure to include your child’s name, age, previous experience in theatre, and the class your child is interested in attending.
All classes will be held at 15 Emory Place.
June 11th-15th: Acting I: Beginning Acting, for children ages 8-12, 9:30 am-12:30 pm. This class will teach different acting concepts and skills through acting exercises and games. This class is designed for students with little to no theatre experience.
June 25th-29th: Acting II: Intermediate Acting, for children ages 11-15 with previous acting experience, 9:30 am -12:30 pm. Students will develop the confidence and creativity in their acting. They’ll study vocal projection, stage movement, character development, and improvisation through group, partner, and individual exercises.
July 9th-13th: Acting I: Musical Theatre, for ages 8-11, 9 am – 12 pm; July 16th-20th from 9 am – 12 pm, for ages 12-15. This class is for children who love to sing and act. Students will learn proper breathing technique, singing skills, stage presence, theatricality, and choreography.

WordPlayers will offer classes at the Clayton Performing Arts Center on the campus of Pellissippi State Community College, Hardin Valley Campus. Classes cost between $115-$125 for each student. To register, 539-7167, or on the Web at www.pstcc.edu/bcs.
July 9th-13th: CreACTivity Acting Instruction Program, for ages 8-10, 1-4 pm. Students will practice their acting techniques through exercises, games, and creative dramatics. At the end of the week, the students will put on a performance.
July 16th-20th: ImaginACTion Acting Instruction Program, for ages 11-13, 1-4 pm. This camp will help students use their imaginations and acting techniques to create characters for the stage through games and exercises. Students will put on a performance at the end of the week.
