There are quite a few outdoor events planned for this weekend, including lots of Dogwood Arts Festival events. Lets keep our fingers crossed that they don’t all rain out!
To celebrate the Dogwood Arts Festival, this Friday-Sunday, April 20th-22nd, is the Rhythm N Blooms Festival to be held at various locations in downtown Knoxville. Come out and enjoy great music and workshops to be held on Saturday at the East Tennessee History Center. Children six and under are admitted to this annual event for FREE, day passes and weekend passes are available. Through TODAY ONLY, passes can be purchased for $25/$55, but will increase in price tomorrow to $30/$60. Passes are available here, at any area participating Pilot/Flying J Food Mart, or at Morelock Music. This event will happen rain or shine!
While you’re downtown enjoying the Rhythm N Blooms Festival, on Saturday, April 21st from 8 am – 5 pm, head to Market Square for even more Dogwood Arts Festival celebration with their annual Chalk Walk. This street painting festival will feature professional and student artists!
Farragut will host their own Dogwood Arts Festival event this Saturday and Sunday, April 21st and 22nd from 9 am – 4 pm with their Farragut Art in the Park. Watch artists at work at various locations around Farragut including Campbell Station Park, Mayor Bob Leonard Park, Anchor Park, Farragut Town Hall/Farragut Memorial Plaza, Historic Pleasant Forest Cemetery, Old Concord, and Bridgemore Boulevard.
Consignment shoppers, this is YOUR weekend. The area’s LARGEST sale, Duck Duck Goose will be held April 20th-23rd, closed on Sunday, April 22nd. Shop daily from 10 am – 8 pm for gently used children’s clothing, baby gear, toys, and more in their 100,000 sq ft of Goody’s Warehouse on Parkside Drive near Turkey Creek.
Help get Knoxville in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people cloth diapering at once at this year’s Great Cloth Diaper Change event to be held during the Knoxville Natural Parenting Expo on Saturday, April 21st from 11 am – 3 pm. For even more green living fun, this weekend is Knoxville’s EarthFest. On Saturday, April 21st from 10 am – 5 pm, visit Pellissippi State Community College’s Hardin Valley Campus to learn ways to recycle and reduce waste. Click here for more information!
Bass Pro Shops in Kodak, TN will be hosting a FREE Kid’s Challenge Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, April 21st- 22nd from 12-4pm. Enjoy crafts and challenges including archery, sleeping bag challenge, casting, and more! Bass Pro Shops is located at 3629 Outdoor Sportsmans Place, at exit 407 off I-40.
