With Spring Break and summer quickly approaching, the Knoxville Zoo makes for a great destination. The Knoxville Zoo, located at at 3500 Knoxville Zoo Drive next to Chilhowee Park, already has fantastic animal exhibits and kid’s activities, but they have big plans for 2012. Coming in May, the Knoxville Zoo will open a 5,000 square foot splash pad, which will be East Tennessee’s largest. To add to their animals, the Knoxville Zoo will be getting a Komodo Dragon! The Animals in Action show also returns this month!
Single day admission for a family can be expensive. My kids and I went just a few weeks ago and it cost me $55! We were able to upgrade out single day admission tickets to a Membership for just $30 more. With all the fun Knoxville Zoo has planned, we’ll definitely be making several trips to the zoo throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
Membership has lots of benefits including members only events, reduced or free admission to hundreds of zoo and aquariums across the country, free parking, and discounts at Dollywood and Splash Country. The cost of membership varies from $60-$160.
