Do you have a little girl who loves tea parties? My seven-year-old daughter’s Girl Scout troop attended a tea party recently. I thought I would pass along some information about it in case any of you are interested in doing this with a group or for a birthday party.
The children arrived and got to select a boa and a hat from a bin. Then they were given instructions on how to conduct themselves properly during a tea party. The hostess served tea or pink lemonade and cupcakes. Each child made a fan and learned the history of gesturing with your fan as a form of communication.
My daughter and her fellow scouts enjoyed the tea party very much. And I have noticed my daughter now pays more attention to her table manners. For example, she is very diligent about making sure she has a napkin on her lap during mealtime. And she reminds me, too, if I forget!
Lil’ Swee~tea Party is East Tennessee’s first authentic traveling tea party service. Packages start at $265. The service is provided by Tracy Ann, who serves NE Tennessee within a 50 mile radius. Beyond 50 miles, mileage fees are charged, but this is a woman on the go. She has traveled to Knoxville, Chattanooga and even Nashville for her clients.
